Resources for Employee Transportation Coordinators
About the Commute Trip Reduction program
This section is an overview of the requirements for state agency ETCs and offers guidance on facilitating these programs at their respective worksites.
Washington’s CTR law requires each worksite to appoint and maintain an Employee Transportation Coordinator (ETC). Each agency must display the ETC’s name, location and contact information prominently in an area readily accessible to employees. Agencies with more than one worksite in Thurston County must appoint a CTR coordinator.
Together we:
- Designate an employee transportation coordinator (ETC).
- Implement measures to reduce drive-alone commutes.
- Communicate options to employees.
- Promote ride-matching opportunities and assistance.
- Commit to making a good-faith effort toward reaching CTR program goals.
- Collaborate with nearby agencies.
- Survey employees and submit program reports.
- Attend networking and training sessions.
- Report annually to management to keep them informed and engaged.
